My name is Alexis, a licensed professional specializing in braiding and natural hair care. Born and raised in Chicago, I started braiding my own hair as a child — not as a hobby, but out of necessity. Self-taught at first, my passion grew into a true craft over time.

After relocating to Houston nine years ago, I invested in my skills by learning from some of the best braiders in the industry. My journey led me to The Doll House, where under the mentorship of Justina, I spent a year and a half soaking up every ounce of knowledge. That experience shaped not only my technical skills but my commitment to delivering more than just beautiful styles.

Today, Elevated Pretty exists to offer my clients not just flawless braids — but healthy hair techniques designed to nurture, protect, and elevate their natural beauty. Every service is done with precision, care, and the goal of keeping your hair thriving underneath every style you wear.
